Print and Usage Guide

WHERE TO PRINT
While you can print directly from your gallery at www.risingsunmemories.com. My other choice other then directly from your gallery is Mpix.com. They provide easy online ordering and excellent quality; lots of fun products too. Some places may require you to bring a printed copy of a personal use form to make prints (Wal-mart). One will be provided for you on your disk.

RESOLUTION, ENLARGEMENTS, & FILE FORMAT
These are high resolution images and you can print them in almost any size. If you plan on using these images on a blog, website, facebook etc., give credit to "Photographed by Denise Burridge of www.risingsunmemories.com". All of your files are JPEG files. Try to avoid opening a JPEG, making changes, and re-saving it as this will degrade the quality of your image.

COLOR
I can certainly understand the appeal of manipulating your images, but I strongly recommend against it.  Changes made to those settings could greatly affect the final print quality of your images. Before ordering really large prints from a lab outside of my recommendations, it is a good idea to have a 4x6 or 5x7 printed there to make sure their colors are desirable. Do NOT let labs auto-color correct your prints!

BACK IT UP!
Make copies of your CD. Store one in a safety deposit box. I can’t guarantee the ability to replace disk or damaged files.

COPYRIGHT

FRAMING
If you frame a print behind glass ALWAYS be sure to mat it or else it will stick to the glass.

CROPPING
I would recommend AGAINST cropping these images on your computer and instead, use printer services to crop your images for the correct print size. When going from a 4x6 to an 8x10, it is inevitable that you’re going to lose some parts of the image.  Pay close attention to the crop/preview tools before ordering to ensure important parts are not cut off.

The same is true for gallery wrap canvases: parts of the image MUST wrap around the frame. This can be very tricky sometimes, so I recommend you order gallery wraps from me so I can do whatever is necessary to create a wrap that will look good for that image.

PRINT LIABILITY
I have provided you with the highest quality images possible and cropped and colored them how I believe they will print the best.  Some images (particularly those shot in low light) may have visible digital noise when enlarged too much. This is normal, but may not be aesthetic. In those cases, black and white might be a better option.

In addition, if you crop an image in too tightly in Photoshop or another editing program, you will lose resolution and may cause it to be pixelated when enlarged.  Bottom line – to ensure the best print quality, try to avoid altering your images before printing.
